This article conducts an analysis of the dynamics of the ethnodemographic composition of the Abkhazian population in the post-Soviet period based on the data of the 1989 and 2003 population censuses, scientific publications on the ethnodemography and ethnogeography of contemporary Abkhazia, and the author’s field studies during expeditions in 2003-2006.
